Scheduling & Payment

 We accept all major credit cards, Square invoicing, Money Orders, Wire, and Cash. We do not accept personal checks. 

  • We require a 25% Deposit to reserve Board & Train Programs, and a 40% Deposit to reserve Service Dog programs. 
  • If an invoice has been formulated, you will need to pay a 10% Cancellation Fee to cancel the invoice and training program. 

We only offer 1 payment plan; "Layaway Payment Plan": 

  • You may schedule your program to start up to 4 months out from your consultation, and make payments onto the PayPal invoice weekly/monthly as long as the balance is settled 20 days before drop off. 

There are NO REFUNDS for any training program, as stated in the training contract & NO REFUNDS for any pre-paid Behavioral consultations, or any other evaluation or single private lesson that has be pre-paid in advance.

The Refined K9 Dog Training, Holiday FL 

The Refined K9 is accepting applications for ‘Canine Care Interns’ to assist in Canine caretaking and kennel duties. Interns will have the opportunity to participate in all aspects of animal care, and kennel preparations. The Canine Care Internship is the perfect opportunity for students to gain experience in: Dog intake and selection procedures, canine care and well-being, canine first aid, canine behavior, and basic body language. Interns will gain valuable skills relevant to future careers in veterinary medicine, animal behavior, animal training, and animal husbandry. This internship is ideal for someone who has a passion for canine training and wants to take an active role in learning how to care for high drive K9s and pet dogs.

  • Preferred Qualities:
    • Minimum of 18 years of age
    • Previous experience in a busy kennel setting preferred but not required
    • Passion for canine training and behavior shaping
    • Strong (developing) canine behavior observation skills
    • Ability to complete detailed tasks as assigned and within required timeframe
    • Ability to bend, lift, walk and stand for long periods of time
    • Reliability and dependability
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Not fearful of getting bit, scratched, or dirty. 


  • Primary Responsibilities:
    • Clean cages, feed and walk all canines housed in our kennel room
    • Clean up animal feces in the fenced in yard area
    • Sort and store kennel donations
    • Observe, record, and discuss animal behavior, and animal health
    • Participate in basic behavior shaping 


  • Requirements:
    • Interview with Alicia Scholet, BA. CPT. 
    • Intention to enroll in a Dog Trainer Program 


  • What Interns Will Take Away:
    • The history, services, and basic operations of The Refined K9
    • Opportunity to learn from and interact with a wide variety of canines
    • Gain professional hands-on animal care experience with a Professional Dog Trainer
    • Receive a basic education in animal handling, animal behavior, animal body language, animal training, animal boarding and basic training from a Professional Dog Trainer
    • Gain a basic understanding of the daily operations inside a small dog training kennel (3-11 dogs)


  • Supervision: Directly supervised by the owner, Alicia Scholet, B.A., CPT. 

Availability: Interns must be able to commit to 8 weeks, Sunday-Saturday (All 7 days), 7am-8:30am, 6:30pm-8pm

Salary: Unpaid – We will write a letter of recommendation to any dog training school, college, etc. As well as provide you with documentation of your hours worked. Interns may receive an invitation to apply for a mentorship with Alicia Scholet after finishing the kennel internship contingent upon worth ethic. 

 Housing: Housing for students is not available.
